Pre-finishing and shipping Wood Doors & Moldings

Don't leave one of the most important steps to a quality job to chance, order your wood doors and moldings with one of our furniture quality custom finishes to really impress your customers.

Pre-finishing
Our standard prefinish of interior doors, jambs and moldings includes:
1 coat of stain in the color of your choice
2 coats of conversion varnish with our standard sheen

Non-standard finishes include 3 coats of conversion varnish, non-standard sheens, distressing, tinting, glazing, white washing, priming and painting. Call for pricing. Some woods such as poplar, maple or birch that are to be stained dark must be tinted.

Step 1
Since we can't send you all of the possible stain colors available, we need you to narrow down your color choice by one of the following methods:

Send us a prefinished wood sample from your kitchen cabinet company or a cutoff from a piece of
prefinished molding that you are trying to match.

Or go down to your local paint store to choose a color then let us know the stain brand and color.
We will send you some raw wood samples for you to experiment on if needed.

Or choose a color by looking at wood samples on our web site.

Step 2
Once you get your color choice narrowed down we will then make you up a finished sample and mail it to you.

Step 3
If the sample meets your approval you will then need to sign and date the back of the sample, mark it approved and mail it back to us. If you do not like the sample we will repeat step 3 until you are satisfied.

Step 4
Once we receive the approved sample back we will then begin finishing.

How to repair a dent in a finished door:
With a straight pin, make a hole at a 45 degree angle in the bottom of the dent. If the dent is above eye level, angle the pin downward. If below eye level, angle the pin upward. Fill the dent with water for 3 to 4 minutes trying to force the water into the pin hole by rubbing the dent with your fingers. Lay a very wet, but not dripping rag, over the area and with an iron set at medium, iron the dented area. Keep the iron moving at all times. Once the wood has returned to its original shape, dry the surface and vigorously rub the surface with a soft cloth. This may soften the finish enough to closed the pinhole.
